ZACHARY JOHN DIDIER
Zachary John Didier, age 17, passed away suddenly and accidentally on December 27, 2020. He was a senior at Whitney High School in Rocklin, CA who excelled at school, music, and athletics. He was always surrounded by his many friends and brought smiles to the faces of everyone around him.
From an early age, Zach was influenced by his mother's love of music and performing. He played the violin in the school orchestra for six years. He also taught himself many instruments including the ukulele, the guitar, and the piano, which remained his favorite. His family will treasure the videos of Zach playing these instruments, most especially the ones featuring his beautiful piano renditions of "White Christmas" and "Christmas Time is Here". During his junior year of high school he was selected to play the lead role in the school's spring musical production. His family was so proud to see him perform as Troy Bolton in "High School Musical".
Another passion of Zach's was athletics. For six seasons he was a top defender on his beloved soccer team, the Falcons, a team coached by his father. In high school he took up track and field, participating in the high jump and several hurdle events. His drive and determination earned him a Coach's Award for excellence during his sophomore season due to his team spirit and time improvements at every track meet.
Zach was also an accomplished student who always pushed himself to reach his academic goals, whether they be his grades, his SAT score, or his AP exams. He was in the process of applying to many top tier colleges when he passed away, with hopes of attending Stanford University.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Christopher and Laura Didier; older sister, Alexandra; older brother, Samuel; grandparents, Robert and Shirley Olson; uncles David Olson (Ashly) and Matthew Mahan (Ashley); aunt Lisa Didier, and many cousins. Grandfather John Didier pre-deceased Zach and grandmother Leta Didier tragically passed away just days after Zach.
During his 17 years, Zach filled the world with love, laughter, music, and kindness. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be so deeply missed.
