William Samuel Lair

William Samuel Lair, Jr. (Bill) was born on August 25, 1930 - the son of William Samuel Lair and Loretta Palmer. Raised in Lemon Grove, California, alongside his sister, Donna, Bill enjoyed riding horses as a child. In 1950, Bill enlisted in the military and served our great country during the Korean War as a Petty Officer First Class of the U.S. Navy. In 1954, he met and married Carol Stockman, a warm and kind woman from Lemon Grove. Married for over 65 years, they have two beautiful children - David William and Debralee. Bill is also the grandfather to four wonderful grandchildren - Kevin, Rachel, Sophie and Olivia. After nearly 30 years with Pacific Bell, Bill retired to Granite Bay, California. He enjoyed RV road trips, playing croquet in his garden, camping and fishing. A proud Sacramento Kings, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland A's fan, Bill passed away peacefully in his home on August 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
