Wanda Magee passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones and started her new life with Jesus Christ at the age of 84.
Born in Poteau, Oklahoma on June 12, 1937, to Ganie Dee & Virginia Mae Dodson. In 1943, her family came to California on one of the WWII troop trains, landing in the Cuyama Valley, working the crops before settling in Arbuckle, California. She married Jimmy Denny in 1954 and graduated from Pierce High School in 1955. They then headed to Chanute AFB, Illinois, where Jimmy was stationed. In 1956, they were transferred to Hamilton AFB, California. After Jimmy completed his service in the Air Force, they made their home In Petaluma, with 3 children, Norman, Terry, and Jeff. In 1969, they purchased a motorcycle shop and moved to Auburn. Wanda worked at Denny's Honda and waited tables at LouLa Bontes until 1979 when she went to work for Sierra Central Credit Union where she retired as manager in 2000.
In 1982, Wanda married Mick Magee and the two of them lived a very happy and adventurous life together. She added 5 stepchildren and their spouses to her life. Mick and Wanda traveled extensively throughout the US in their motorhome stopping at all but 5 states and golfing many courses along the way.
Wanda was a dedicated Soroptimist and most of all enjoyed times spent with her family camping and fishing. She was the family entertainer and hosted many Christmas parties. Wanda will be remembered for her loving heart, fighting spirit, and ability to look on the bright side of life.
She is survived by her most dedicated and loving husband, Mick; her children and their spouses, Norman and Cindy Denny, Terry and Frank Duarte, Jeff and Vickie Denny; stepchildren and their spouses Mike and Tammy Magee, Kathy and Jerry Beeks, Patty and Bob Prather, Richard and Cynthia Magee, Robert and Diana Magee; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving brother Autry Dodson.
Celebration of Life services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Foothill Bible Church, 120 Flocchini Circle, Lincoln, CA 95648.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wanda's church, Foothill Bible Church.
