Virginia Anne Skinner, died at the age of 90 years on September 29, 2019 at her home in Roseville, California.
Virginia Anne Skinner was born Virginia Anne Biederman in Yale, Guthrie County, Iowa on May 29, 1929 to Bessie Lola Dvorak and
Francis Joseph Biederman. Virginia, or Ginny as she liked to be called, She attended Yale Independent School and later Perry High School where
she met her future husband and the love of her life Richard A. Skinner. They were married on September 7, 1947 in New Hampton, Chickasaw, Iowa. They lived in Perry, Iowa from 1947 to 1951, during which time, their first two children were born, Sharon and Ron.
In 1951, they moved to Santa Monica, California, where they lived in an apartment until they bought a house in Torrance, California where they lived from 1954 to 1983. During this time, two more children were born, Richard (Rik) and Lori.
In 1983, Richard and Virginia moved to a new home in Rocklin, California where they lived until 2019. In the spring of 2019, they moved to Roseville, California.
Virginia enjoyed cooking/baking, concerts, eating out, genealogy, traveling, knitting and sewing and family traditions.
She is survived by her husband Richard A. Skinner, her half-sister Donna Tatz, and Sharon Gerbi (Tom), grch. Jason Gerbi (Anne), ggrch. Ty and Wyatt; Paul Gerbi (Rene), ggrch. Richard (Rik) Skinner (Anne), grch. Stacie Hoxsie (Tony); Laura Chamochumbi, (Rocky), ggrch. Riley, Reese, Raeya; James Skinner (Tara); Julianne Rosenau (Shawn), ggrch. Hailey, Aubrey; Allison Farmer (Trevor), ggrch. Teagan, Emily; Jeffrey Skinner (McKayla), ggrch. Chloe, Jeffrey, Adam, Sofia; Matthew Skinner (Cami), ggrch. Levi; Evan Skinner; Lori Coling (Rich), grch. Kevin.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to family members, doctors, nurses, aides, and the hospice organization who worked together to serve and care for Virginia. She will be remembered with love by her husband, daughters, sons, grand-children, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel, 6920 Destiny Dr, Rocklin, CA. Burial will take place following the service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, CA.
