Valerie Ann Doner

Valerie Ann "Val" Doner, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 4,2024, in Sacramento at the age of 74. She was born on May 8, 1949, in Malden, Massachusetts to her parents and grew up to be an extraordinary individual with a heart full of love and kindness.

Throughout her life, Valerie wore many hats - from being a banker to owning her own business as a pottery store owner and holistic massage therapist. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore various paths in life, each filled with passion and determination. Val's decision to leave behind her banking career to pursue her dream of owning a pottery store and later a massage center stands as a testament to her courage and entrepreneurial spirit.

Valerie was known for her independent nature, fun-loving personality, and carefree spirit. Her zest for life was contagious, evident in her love for walking, music, traveling, gardening, and being a grandmother. Val cherished the role of being a grandmother above all else; she would have been overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a great-grandmother. Christmas was her favorite holiday - she adorned her home with endless decorations and insisted on involving her family in holiday cooking traditions.

She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories that will forever be cherished by her surviving family members: her daughter Robbin, her granddaughter Cassandra, her great grandchildren Rylan, Aubree, Autumn, and Kash, as well as her brother Bill. In loving memory is also Herbert Doner, Robbin's father and her husband Dale Shue.

In the vibrant community of Los Gatos, California where Valerie resided, she was adored by countless friends who will always remember her warmth and kindness. Her impact on the lives around her was profound; she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Valerie's spirit will continue to live on through the generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were touched by her love. Her passion for gardening and creating mosaic art pieces will remain an inspiration to all those who knew her.

As we say goodbye to Valerie Ann Doner in this physical realm, we take solace in knowing that her legacy of love and joy will endure eternally in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Val – you have left an indelible mark on our lives that will never fade.

"Perhaps they are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."

May your soul find eternal peace.
