Steve was born and raised in the Palisades neighborhood in Washington, D.C. Following graduation from Western High School, he attended Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, and received a B.A. in English. Following college, Steve served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam for two years. He came home and moved San Diego, CA for several years until returning to the DC area.
