Sally Ann McCauley

May 17, 1929 — January 28, 2024

Rocklin, California

Sally Ann McCauley

Sally was the baby sister to three older brothers. She played with scooters, the family dog and loved to chew gum. Sally had so many friends growing up that she was always inviting them over for parties, unbeknownst  to her Mother. This of course didn’t always go over well with her Mother.

At the tender age of 21 she felt the call from God to enter into the religious life, becoming a nun in the order of Immaculate Heart of Mary Community under the name of Sister Thomas Ann.

She worked in the hospital as a medical technologist in Salinas, CA. Later becoming a hospital administrator in Salinas, CA.

After she left IHM Community, once again she felt called by God to marry Earl McCauley whom she loved dearly. Once Sally said ”I do” at the altar she became “Mom” to six children whom all loved and respected her dearly. She also became “Grandmom” to three wonderful grandchildren of Earl’s.

They married in Sacramento at the home of her Uncle Henry and Aunt Mildred. They began their married life in Salinas. After Earl’s retirement they moved to Chico where Sally continued to work. From Chico it was on to Lincoln, then Roseville and then to Rocklin. Sally continued working in the medical field until she was seventy-two years young.

In her retirement years, Sally enjoyed taking classes in painting along with piano lessons. She enjoyed quilting, taking Spanish lessons and joining a Mah-Jongg group. She had a love of cars her whole life. Her dream car was a little red Mercedes convertible. Her love of car often was reflected in her paintings.

She lived her life as a very kind and gentle soul.   She was always there for everyone and dedicated her life to helping others. Sally adored Earl, each of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
