For over three decades, Ron dedicated his career to Fleming Foods, where his work ethic and commitment shone brightly. Prior to that, he worked as an Extruder Operator at Beamis Bag and AB&I Plastics, and he started his journey as a hardwood floor layer. Ron’s professional life was marked by stability, but it was his time in the U.S. Navy that fueled his spirit with pride. Enlisting on June 16, 1958, he was assigned to the USS Hornet, famously known as the Grey Ghost. His crew achieved remarkable milestones, including winning the Battle Efficiency E for four consecutive years. Ron was honorably discharged in 1962, carrying with him treasured memories of camaraderie and accomplishments, including being a dedicated Plank Owner and volunteer for the restoration of the USS Hornet.
Ron was not only a man of great talent but also one of exceptional warmth and kindness. His personality was characterized by his infectious humor, and those who had the pleasure of knowing him cherished the joyful memories of his smile and laughter. His voicemail messages would always bring a chuckle, and his hugs left a lasting impression on everyone. Ron had an unparalleled ability to care for those around him, always putting family and friends first, and doing anything within his power to bring happiness to their lives.
Family was paramount to Ron. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Vicky Isaacson, and adoring children: Carol Jackson, Derinda Hess, Margaret Bourdette, Theresa Isaacson, Doug Isaacson, Michelle McLearen, and Sam Isaacson. He was a proud father who cherished each moment spent with his children and had a special bond with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were forever enriched by his love and affection.
In addition to his deep family ties, Ron’s love for animals was well-known. He welcomed strays into his home, embodying a spirit of compassion that reflected the strength of his heart. Ron's legacy of kindness extended not just to humans, but to every creature that crossed his path.
