Robert Cleveland McPherson

Robert McPherson, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2024. He is survived by his wife Nancy and sons, Michael and Eric.

Rob was born January 26th, 1951 in Berkeley California to parents James and Erma McPherson. He lived with his parents and brothers Jim and Bill in Concord California. He was active in Boy Scouts of America achieving the status of Eagle Scout before joining the United States Navy in 1969. Serving as a Navy Corpsman from 1969 to 1973.

After being honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class, Rob tried various careers before becoming an X-ray technician at Contra Costa County Hospital in 1978. He was an active marathon runner and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Rob started working for Kaiser Permanente in Martinez, California, in 1983 where he would meet the love of his life and future wife Nancy. They were married in 1984 and began their family with the birth of their firstborn son Michael in 1986. The family moved to Rocklin California in 1988 and soon welcomed their second son Eric in 1990.

Rob was a devoted husband and father. He loved being a part of his children’s lives, taking them skiing, participating in church activities, and being an active in all aspects of their lives.

He was kind, patient, and always brought joy with his great sense of humor. he become a preceptor for new X-ray technicians and guided many along their career journey. Rob retired in 2015 and got to enjoy his retirement filled with golf, biking and much laughter. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A celebration of life is planned for June 9th, 2024 at 2pm at the Roseville Church of Christ 1799 Cirby way Roseville California.

A large part of Rob's life the past few years was supporting his Niece, Kirsti, and her daughter Kiira, who is living with Epidermolysis Bullosa.  In lieu of flowers, Rob's family would like any who are willing to give to donate to the Butterly Family Fund, which has kindly set up a donation spot in memorial of Rob.  Just click this paragraph to be directed to the donation page.​​​
