Richard Glen Bartolomei

Emblem

Richard “Ricky” Glen Bartolomei was a distinguished United States Marine Corps (USMC) veteran who served our country during the Desert Storm War as a jet mechanic. He passed away peacefully at the age of 58.

Ricky was born and grew up in the town of Redwood City, California. He had two brothers and one sister along with two step-sisters. As the youngest child in a large family, he had to speak loudly to be heard. During his childhood, Ricky made many friends and had many adventures. Ricky enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing in Idaho where many family birthdays and vacations were celebrated. Many values of life were learned on those Idaho trips that would shape his character and career.

Ricky graduated from Orofino High School in Orofino, Idaho. After graduating from high school, he worked many jobs before entering the USMC. Training in the Marine Corps prepared him for the challenges of the Desert Storm War. He traveled all over the world with the military and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Upon returning to civilian life after serving in the military, he moved to Florida to be close to his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Leney for many years. While in Florida, Ricky developed his skills as a landscaper with an eye for landscape design. Leaving Florida for California, he remained a landscaper and a useful handyman for many friends and family. His warm heart and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Richard Glen Bartolomei’s final resting place will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, California, where his body will be laid to rest at 10:00 am, August 22, 2024

Richard is predeceased by his father, Richard Bartolomei, and his step-father Larry Lashly. He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Shakilla, his mother Sandra Lashly, step-mother Gloria Bartolomei, his siblings, and a host of friends and family members from a large Italian and Swedish family.
