Renee Lynn Munn, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, peacefully transitioned from this life on September 12, 2025, in Roseville, California. Born on May 30, 1958, in Castro Valley, California, to Rendall and Marie Cothern, Renee was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, known for her kind heart and unwavering support.
Renee’s journey began at Kennedy High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1977. Her early years were spent in Fremont, where she built a loving life, filled with cherished memories. Three years ago, seeking to be closer to her family, she moved to Lincoln, California. Throughout her career at Stanford University in the Accounts Payable department, she not only found professional fulfillment but also forged bonds that mirrored her nurturing spirit, always ready to support others in both her personal and professional life.
Her faith played an important role in her life, as she attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont for many years, where she was baptized. She found joy and support in her faith community alongside her husband, sister, and brother-in-law.
Renee's family was the essence of her being. She was a devoted wife to Matthew Munn for 25 wonderful years. Her unconditional love extended to her daughters, Desiree Hernandez and Nicole Dolin, who carry forward her legacy of warmth and compassion. The joy of her life was amplified through her five adored grandchildren—Brianna Richards, Makayla Hrenko, Alycia Richards, Jared Hrenko, and Anthony Richards—who filled her days with laughter and love. Recently, as a proud Great Grandmother to Aria Esparza and Alexander Preciado, her heart swelled with pride and joy, welcoming new life into the family.
Renee was not only known for her loving nature, but also for her creative spirit. She found immense pleasure in cooking and baking, pouring love into every meal and treat she prepared. Her passion for crafting and sewing showcased the limitless creativity she possessed, as her hands brought to life countless handmade gifts and décor, each a testament to her artistic flair and thoughtfulness.
As we reflect on Renee Lynn Munn’s life, we remember the beauty of her soul, the kindness she extended to everyone around her, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She joins her beloved parents, Marie and Rendall Cothern, and her cherished niece, Christina Beckwith, in eternal rest. Their memories serve to illuminate the tapestry of her life, woven together with laughter, love, and a compassionate spirit that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In this poignant moment, we honor the life of Renee, whose vast heart and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. The love she shared will remain a guiding light for her family and all of those she touched throughout her life.
