Raymond Thomas Mysliwski, a cherished figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 22, 2025, at the age of 95 in Rocklin, California. Born on March 21, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ray lived a life marked by dedication, love, and humor.
Ray's journey was profoundly influenced by his military service. He joined the Army at the young age of 17, with the approval of his parents, embarking on a distinguished career that would span 26 years. He served in the Criminal Investigation Division, ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) before retiring. His commitment to service continued beyond the military; he joined the Santa Clara County Welfare Fraud Investigation Division, where he dedicated another 13 years before concluding his professional career.
An alumnus of Chaminade College of Honolulu, Ray graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of General Studies. He was passionate about furthering his education and frequently enrolled in continuing education courses, particularly those focused on law enforcement and criminal investigations.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ray was a man of warmth and humor. With a twinkle in his blue eyes, he had the unique ability to surprise others with his witty remarks, always followed by a beaming smile that could brighten any room. His family was the center of his universe, and his face would light up at the mere sight of any family member.
Ray enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. He was an avid woodworker, crafting many pieces of furniture and toys that held sentimental value for his loved ones. Gardening was another passion of his, particularly nurturing his wife’s rose bushes to stunning perfection. A voracious reader, Ray had a special fondness for the works of Louis L'Amour, finding joy and adventure within the pages of each book.
Ray spent his last 20 months at Sunrise of Rocklin Senior Living, where he touched the lives of both staff and residents alike with his kind and amusing demeanor. He was well liked by many who cared for him during this time.
He is survived by his beloved family, including four children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom take pride in Ray’s legacy of fostering responsible, caring adults. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora G. Mysliwski, whose memory lives on in the hearts of her family.
Raymond Thomas Mysliwski will be remembered not only for his exemplary service and dedication but also for his infectious spirit and the loving relationships he fostered throughout his life. His legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
