Nancy Lee Kelly was born in Sacramento, California, on February 17, 1947, to Daimer and Betty Kelly.  She had one younger brother, Mike, and two sisters, Eileen and Betty Jean. While Nancy was growing up, her father served in the American military, so she lived in many different places.

As a young adult, Nancy worked as a beautician. She especially enjoyed the time visiting with her customers while she created beautiful hair styles for them.

Nancy met the love of her life, David Houlding, in Vacaville.  They were married in Carson City, Nevada, in 1975.  On the way to Carson City, their car broke down. But her parents came to the rescue and drove them the rest of the way so they could get to the church on time.

David and Nancy lived in the Sacramento area for most of their married life, recently settling in North Highlands to enjoy their retirement. They were married for 47 years.

Nancy was mother to four children, Kim, James, Ryan and Andrea.  She was a loving mom who instilled in them love, honesty and consideration for others.

Nancy’s home is decorated with things she made.  She loved craft projects, especially during the holidays.

Three of Nancy’s favorite things are shopping, strawberries and casinos.  She would go shopping while David enjoyed his favorite sport, fishing.  She and David enjoyed many strawberry festivals and it seemed they could never pass up a strawberry stand along the roadside.  They often made their way to the casinos in Reno and Tahoe and other casinos close to home.

Nancy passed away peacefully in her home on June 27th, 2022. She is predeceased by her sister Eileen and her parents, Daimer and Betty Kelly.  Nancy is survived by her husband, David Houlding, her four children, Kim, James, Ryan and Andrea, her brother Mike, and her sister Betty Jean.

Rest in peace, Nancy.  We love you.  You’ll always be in our hearts.
