Michael Lee Sneed finished his life journey on Friday, May 13th 2016 at his home in Rocklin, California. The oldest of six children, he was born on March 10, 1948 to Boyd (Bud) Lee Sneed Jr. and Verna Ruth (Lynch) Sneed in Bakersfield, and attended school and college in California and Texas, graduating Foothill HS and earning a degree in History from Cal State Bakersfield in 1976. Mike served honorably as a Signals Intelligence Cryptologist in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam war. He came home to start a family with his first wife Nancy and began a career in law enforcement that would span 33 years, working in Kern and Placer counties. Mike was a life-long history buff, and enjoyed the outdoors to no end. Active in Scouting with his two sons Jonathan and Jared, he served as Cubmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster while living in beautiful Tahoe City, California from 1986 to 1990, receiving the Silver Bear Award in recognition of his dedicated support. Mike loved hunting and fishing, books and movies, and vacations to Thailand during his retirement years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Verna Sneed, brothers Timothy Allen, Jesse Ray, and Dennis Ralph Sneed. He is survived by his sister Susan Gail Lindsay and brother John Kevin Sneed, sons Jonathan Andrew and Jared Eaton Sneed, and wives Nancy Ann (Pollard) Sneed and Katie (Kyung Sook Joo) Sneed. Services are planned for Wednesday, 25 May at 3:00 PM, Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel in Rocklin, California 6920 Destiny Drive, Rocklin CA 95677.
