Michael Hoyer was born in Sacramento, California on September 5,1966 and passed away on September 29, 2019 after losing a valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Stephanie (Pagonis) along with his beloved son's Alex and Andrew. He is also survived by his mother Henny Hoyer, cherished sister Suzanne Reilly (husband Paul) and brother Robert Hoyer (wife Casandra). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Michael graduated from Kennedy High School in 1984 and proceeded to become a civil engineer through his Sacramento State University schooling. He married the love of his life, Stephanie on September 26, 1992.
Michael was a very talented fun loving person and held in a high regard in the construction industry. Even at a young age Michael had a desire to always build and or fix things. He taught all of us what work ethic should look like and enjoyed his job very much. He played as hard as he worked and had a deeply rooted passion for baseball, motorcycles and loved spending time pulling his 5th wheel up and down the coast with his wife and 2 fur babies. He was also blessed to have many friends and enjoyed laughing and spending quality time with them.
First and foremost Mike was a family man. He loved his family profoundly. He beamed with pride when he talked about Alex and Andrew. He was a coach to many and loved seeing his own children involved in sports and activities that helped build character. Michael was a great dad. He lead by example and was a great mentor. He was a great friend. He was a great husband. That became very obvious in the last weeks of his life as a constant stream of family and friends who came to see him one last time, and as his children came together to lovingly support him emotionally and physically.
We will remember you through the many people still left behind whose lives you touched so positively. You may not realize it, but you leave an amazing legacy behind, two beautiful, handsome and brilliant children. They are your legacy! Through them you leave this world a better place than when you found it and for that you have to be very proud.
