A beloved wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother had her final goodbye on December 29, 2015 with family by her side.
Mary was born on August 24, 1930 in Ogden, Illinois a daughter to the late Ernest and Carrie (Brooks) McCoy. She grew up in Homer, Illinois and graduated from Homer High School in 1948. She met Earl F. Snyder, Jr at the age of 19 and soon after, they married on July 20, 1950. Earl served in the US Air Force for over 30 years and they were stationed at six bases stateside and one in Japan. They were married for 65 years and sadly Earl had just passed away himself on October 1, 2015. They had been blessed with 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Being a military wife with 5 children for all those years was quite adventurous. She was active in the "wives club" for a number of years as their secretary. She was a homemaker up until 1972 where she then began working as a civil service employee for the next 20 years.
Mary's beloved family was her world. She and Earl enjoyed all of their children and grandchildren's school and sporting events. She made every effort to be involved and in touch. She also enjoyed returning back home from time to time to Homer, Illinois to visit with her family and friends there. One of her favorite pass times was playing bingo. She enjoyed the thrill of yelling "Bingo"!
Mary's beautiful red hair, sense of humor and love of life will forever be remembered. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all those who had the privilege of meeting her.
You will always be forever in our hearts!
