Martha Elizabeth Thibodeaux

Martha Elizabeth Thibodeaux was born on December 6, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio. She left Dayton at the age of 18 to pursue a career as a flight attendant in Omaha, Nebraska. Martha was just finishing her training at 19 when she met a handsome man, Airman Peter Thibodeaux. After six months, they were married in a small ceremony in Iowa.

They lived in Nebraska until Peter was honorably discharged after serving four years in the Air Force. Peter and Martha then moved their small family to California.

Martha stayed home to raise their three children, Amber, Todd and Andréa. When Andréa was in the 8th grade, Martha went to work as an accountant for Safeway Foods. After 22 years there, she retired.

Martha and Peter loved to travel on their motorcycle, visiting different states and meeting new friends. After Martha got tired of traveling on the back of the motorcycle, they bought an RV to continue their travels.

After the death of her beloved husband of 55 years, Martha lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She was the most loving and supportive mother to her children.

Mamee loved her six grandchildren. She was so proud of all they had accomplished thus far in their lives. She never let the pain she was in keep her from attending important events in her family's life. Events such as her great-grandson's first baseball game, birthday parties, and her grandchildren's high school and college graduations. Family was very important to her.

At the end of her life, Martha was surrounded by all her children and grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly.
