Maeloticia Zabala Uclaray

Maeloticia Zabala Uclaray, lovingly known as Mamalo, was born on May 7, 1949, in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She graced our lives with her presence until she peacefully passed away surrounded by love on February 19, 2025, in Sacramento, California. Maeloticia's life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community.

A beacon of inspiration, Maeloticia poured her heart into her role as an elementary school teacher in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. With a Bachelor’s degree in Education, she not only educated young minds but also instilled in them the values of kindness and curiosity. Her love for children was evident in every aspect of her life, as she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing the next generation.

Maeloticia made the selfless choice to dedicate her life to raising and nurturing her children rather than pursuing a career. With unwavering love and devotion, she prioritized family, creating a home filled with warmth, guidance, and endless support. Once her children were grown, she returned to work, bringing the same dedication and care to her profession. Her legacy of love will live on through the lives of those she lovingly cared for.

Maeloticia's world revolved around her family. She was the rock, the guide, and the greatest supporter of her husband, Clemente, and lovingly nurtured her children: Eric, Kathleen, Cheryl, Claire, Lester, Larry, and Rachelle. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Kyle, Joaquin, Nick, Summer, Sofia and Xandria, who were the apple of her eyes and a precious great grandchild, Atlas. Each family member knew that they could always count on her for unwavering love and encouragement.

In addition to her love for family and education, Maeloticia enjoyed various hobbies that brought her joy, including gardening especially cacti and succulents, cooking, and collecting porcelain. Her home was a testament to her nurturing spirit, filled with vibrant plants that flourished under her care, and delicious meals that she prepared with love, often bringing the family together around the dinner table.

Maeloticia faced her health challenges with grace and resilience, undergoing years of renal therapy. Yet, through it all, she remained a pillar of strength for her loved ones, embracing every moment with warmth and love. Her journey ended on February 19, 2025, but the love and memories she leaves behind will forever be cherished.

Maeloticia is preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Ericta and her brothers Reebo and Nestor Vergara. Their spirits continue to watch over her, as she surely leaves a place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate her incredible life will be held on February 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel in Rocklin, CA.

Though Maeloticia has transitioned to her eternal rest, her loving spirit and the indelible mark she left on everyone around her will continue to resonate for generations to come. She will be forever remembered, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched with her kindness and love.
