Lynn Roberta Colandrea
7-27-1954 – 5-1-2017
Lynn Roberta Colandrea was born July 27, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was the second daughter to Robert and Corthaleen Haase. The family moved from Nebraska to California in 1955 and made their permanent residence in Mt. View, CA in 1956.
Lynn has two children Julie Allsopp and Andrew Colandrea, as well as four grandchildren – Jaide (16), Bailey (13), Jessie (3) and Colton (1).
Lynn is survived by her father Robert Haase and three sisters/brothers-in-law: Coleen and Lynn Tallman, Joyce and David Gober and Grace and Terry Howe. She also has 4 nieces (Cheriese Vega, Dawn Southerland, Katrina Gober and Sabrina Howe) and a great-niece and nephew Marisa and Nicholas Southerland.
Lynn's greatest love and pride on this earth were her children and grandchildren. She loved and accepted each one for their individual talents and abilities.
Lynn worked as an administrative assistant at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. View, CA for 24 years, retiring in 2014. The church had a child development center and also supported a Spanish ministry. Lynn's proficiency in learning languages allowed her to put out a weekly Sunday service bulletin in Spanish, as well as English. She was the glue that kept all the church functions running smoothly.
Lynn became a member of St. Matthew in 2015 and embraced the many opportunities the church offered. She was a faithful reader of the scriptures and loved delving into the Word of the Lord. She participated in the Mary and Martha Care Group and two different Life Groups. She also loved singing praises to her Lord and sang in the choirs at both St. Paul and St. Matthews. Her office skills were put to good use early on as she volunteered (thanks Audrey) to help with the church's monthly newsletter over the last year or so. She also helped in the kitchen during VBS. She had met many wonderful people in the short time since she came to St. Matthew and had especially bonded with several women friends which made her very happy.
Having organized many activities and fundraisers at St. Paul, and doing numerous garage sales over the years, Lynn had taken her organizational skills to a new level by starting her own downsizing business called Mansions to Bungalows. She became a member of the Sacramento chapter of a nationally known organizers group and was really starting to see great results working with a variety of clients.
Lynn enjoyed traveling, especially visiting various gardens around the country. She was planning a visit to Amsterdam to see the Keukenhof gardens next spring, but now she can see it at any time. She also was a huge football fan. She and Andrew spent many a Sunday afternoon rooting for their favorite teams.
Although she loved her family on earth so very much, her greatest love was for her Lord. She studied faithfully and regularly to better understand all that the scriptures taught. She always said she was ready to meet her Lord whenever he called. In fact, she commented to Pastor Cusson regarding her upcoming shoulder surgery, that she would either have a successful surgery eliminating the pain in her shoulder or she would be with her Lord with no pain at all.
Lynn you will be missed and thought of every day.
