On June 11th, 2018 at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Roseville, CA Larry Peter Mireles passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife Lupe and family, at the age of 72. He fought his illness with courage and dignity. Larry was born on October 12, 1945 in Red Bluff to Guadalupe and Catalina Mireles. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1964. In 1966 he was drafted into the U.S. Army, in the Army Larry completed basic airborne training with the 101st Airborne division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky from May 15-31, 1966 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Army, Larry trained as a Railroad Locomotive Engineer in Los Angeles, CA and went on to work for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads for 37 years. He retired for the railroad in 2008. He met the love of his life Lupe Carbajal and they married on July 3, 1985 and remained married until Larry's Passing. He was a coin collector. He enjoyed trips to Carmel and Dillon Beach. Larry loved the ocean and mountains. Larry was preceded in Death by his parents Guadalupe and Catalina Mireles, brothers Lupe and Gene Mireles and his nephew Jimmy Mireles. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lupe, brothers James, John and Robert Mireles, his sisters Juanita Gutierrez, Rose Corey and Nellie Phillips and many nieces, nephews and friends. His smiling face will be missed.
