Retired Correctional Officer Kenneth Robie, 61, of Rocklin, California, lost his long battle with cancer. Ken passed away at home on Saturday, April 2, 2022, with his wife and family by his side. He was born on June 25, 1960, in Santa Barbara, California, to Carlton and Sharon Robie.
Ken grew up in Goleta (near Santa Barbara) and Sheridan (near Lincoln), California. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978, and then studied at Sierra College. He then enrolled in the Corrections Officer Academy and graduated in 1984. Ken worked at the Duval Correctional Institute in Tracy, California, for 27 years, retiring in 2013.
Ken dated Debbie Zabriskie while they attended Lincoln High School together. After graduation, they went their separate ways. Twenty years later, they reconnected and were married on June 14, 2003, in Marshall, Arkansas. After they were married, they settled in Rocklin, California.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Sharon Robie. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Robie, of Rocklin, California, sister Brenda Neel of B. Branch, Arkansas, Nephew Anthony Neel (Stephanie), of B. Branch, Arkansas, Niece Kimberly Beard (Dennis) of Clinton, Arkansas, and their son, Ethen Beard of Kentucky; Niece Brandy Shalda (Tony) of Michigan, and Nephew Brandon Neel of Colorado.
A Celebration of Ken's Life is scheduled for 12:00 pm, Saturday, July 16th, at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel, 6920 Destiny Drive, Rocklin, California. Check back soon for details. Reception immediately following the service.
