Judy Lea Ludeman
May 21, 1943 — March 12, 2020
Judy Lea Ludeman passed away peacefully on Mar. 12, 2020, after a 3 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. We will all miss her dearly.
Judy was born in Eugene, Oregon on May 21, 1943 to Richard and Vivian Moshofsky. The family moved to Sacramento in 1953. She graduated from El Camino High School in 1961. She was very active in high school and made many lifelong friends.
At UC Davis she met her husband, Charlie Ludeman, and they were married Aug. 29, 1965. Charlie and Judy raised their two daughters, Laura (Craig Ferguson) and Emily (Glenn Mitchell) in Aptos, California. Judy is also survived by four grandchildren, Collin, Kate, Claire, and Doug, her brother Jim Moshofsky (Vicki), many Moshofsky relatives, and many more friends that she considered family.
Judy was described by all who knew her as gracious, kind, caring, optimistic, happy, wonderful, fun-loving, and generous. She was always supportive and a special friend to many.
She loved to attend her children and grandchildren's events such as dance, art, and sporting events. She spent many evenings and weekends at the baseball field, volleyball court, and rugby pitch. She enjoyed entertaining, camping, playing bridge, reading, shopping, cooking and ironing ☺. She was well known for bringing people together and making each person feel welcome.
Judy worked in the family businesses for many years, Easy Care Kitchens and Accessibility Connection. She also spent her life volunteering for the Children's Home Society, Girl Scouts, school events, and helping the elderly.
She selflessly helped take care of Charlie's aging parents and then her own. This inspired her to open a nonprofit with her sister-in-law Vicki, called Nursing Home Nannies. They spent time with elderly people who did not have local family visitors.
We will always keep her in our hearts and remember her loving, joyful, kind spirit.
In her honor we created a team for The Walk to End Alzheimer's event in Aptos, CA. Please consider joining us for the walk in person or in spirit on Sep. 26, 2020. Donations to Judy's Friends Walk to End Alzheimer's Team are always welcome.
