He also is survived by a brother William Millhone (Judie), and two sisters Ilona Menendez (Rudy), and Sharon Peterson (Ted), as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was passionate about his faith in Jesus, his wife and family, and Tennis. In his early years he was a lifeguard at the public pool in Red Bluff. He attended Red Bluff High School and Shasta College. When he moved back to Sacramento, he worked at a lumber yard and offered to build fences for customers. He was also on many different construction sites and was comfortable walking on the high beams. When he settled into a career, he worked at AT&T as a Technician and retired after 25 years.

John enjoyed retirement on the tennis court, teaching his grandkids, coaching, and playing on several USTA teams at Sun City Lincoln Hills. John loved nature and he and Ginny spent time on the beaches of California and Hawaii, as well as traveling to several National Parks with family. He loved this country and had deep respect for those who protect our freedoms. He was a strong man who always offered help to his friends and family. He was known for his smile and big hugs. He will be greatly missed!
