JAZMINE'S JOURNEY
Jazmine Monique Wilson passed away on May 31st, 2023, in Rocklin, California, at the age of 20. Jazmine was currently serving in the US Army as a combat medic with her Sacramento California National Guard Unit.
Jazmine was born on February 21st, 2003, in Hayward, California. Her family relocated from the Bay Area to Rocklin where she grew up and attended Antelope Creek Elementary, Spring View Middle School and Whitney High School. Jazmine was an avid cheerleader from the age of 10 until the end of her senior year of high school.
In December 2020, while still a senior in high school, Jazmine announced to her family that she wanted to join the military. She graduated in June 2021 and left for Fort Jackson, South Carolina on August 9th. She graduated from boot camp on October 20th, and the following day she was sent to Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Just five months later, on March 23rd, 2022, Jazmine graduated from AIT (Advanced Individual Training) as a Combat Medic Specialist. Jazmine came home a Soldier.
Jazmine returned to work at Aldo in the Roseville Galleria. She enrolled at Sacramento State University, and became part of the California Army National Guard unit in Sacramento. On March 11th, her family proudly witnessed her promotion in rank to Specialist.
Jazmine had a passion for animals, shopping, painting, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was our brave soldier.
After her high school graduation, she travelled to Puerto Rico for her senior trip. She had also travelled to the Dominican Republic. Her favorite place to visit was Hawaii with her family where she enjoyed spending on the beaches.
Jazmine is survived by her parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and countless friends who all adored and loved her. She also left behind her beloved cat, her fur baby Mushu.
Many have asked her family how they can best honor Jazmine’s legacy. We ask that you spend as much time as possible outdoors, with your true friends and loved ones. Never give up and always try to push yourself as far as you'd like to go. Remember what Jazmine would say, “Embrace the suck, go hard or go home!”
