Janet Harriet Basileu, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grams, Sister, and Aunt passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2024, in South Lake Tahoe, CA. She was born on June 26, 1948, in Palo Alto, CA, to the late Jane and Lloyd Carlson.
Janet will forever be remembered for her kindhearted and welcoming nature. She had a special gift for making everyone she met feel cherished and valued. Her wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her. Janet's fondest memories revolved around spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She loved to talk about the wonderful memories that were made while traveling the world with her mother and sister. She also found great joy from reminiscing about all the amazing years and fun times spent with family and friends at Lake Berryessa. She cherished any time spent with loved ones and so enjoyed her long lunches and phone conversations with her dearest friends.
Janet had a passion for interior design which shone brightly through her talents, adorning spaces with beauty and harmony. Janet was also an avid gardener and enjoyed creating beauty outside as well as inside.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Gary Basileu; her sons Todd Harris and Jordan Basileu; daughter-in-law Dina Harris; grandchildren Michael Eldridge, Emily Harris, and Faith Harris; her sister Diane Weisenburger; brother-in-law John Weisenburger; nephew Steve Weisenburger (Roslyn); niece Jill MacClaren (Jeffrey); along with other loving relatives and countless friends whom she considered family. They will all deeply miss her presence.
A service to honor and celebrate Janet's life will take place on May 9, 2024, at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel in Rocklin, CA. The event will begin at 11:30 AM followed by burial at Newcastle Cemetery. A celebration of Janet's life will take place immediately following at the home of Todd and Dina Harris in Rocklin, CA.
