Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 78 in Roseville, CA on May 26th 2016. James was surrounded by loved ones when he passed peacefully after a courageous fight against heart failure. James was born February 1, 1938 in Hannibal, Missouri to parents Walter and Kathryn Larsen. In 1952, the family settled in a housing development called Ridgeview, just outside of Davenport, Iowa, where he met the love of his life, Carolyn Larsen, and they were married on March 4, 1958 for 56 years.
While living in the Bay Area, James worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation for 33 years. He was a dedicated and much loved coach for Milpitas North Little League; he later served as league president.
James loved to spend time with family, fish, play cards, gamble, tell a good joke, and eat a good meal. He was also well known for his generosity, humor and thoughtfulness. Jim made sure everyone knew how to play cards or dice; and would be the first one to teach you if you did not know how to play. He was well loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving, daughter Cynthia (Larsen) Charles, daughter Debra (Larsen) McEuen, and son James Larsen, siblings Gary Larsen, David Larsen, Linda Mayfield and Kris Larsen. Grandchildren: Lindsey, Nicholas, Kristin, Joshua, Brittany, Justine, Danielle, and Lisa, Great-grandchildren: Zillah, Colton, Isabella, Bryce, Caleb, and Weston.
James will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in what he called "God's Country" Cascade Idaho.
