James B. Fernandez

ames passed away on August 13, 2022.  He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wendy, along with his sons and their spouses, Michael and Robin Fernandez and Ryan and Jasmin Van Perre, and his beloved grandchildren, Caz, Vexx, Isla, Ethan and Ian.  As well as his sister Sheryl and sister-in-law Janet Bilbas, brother Robert, as well as several nieces and nephews.  As well as his surrogate children Jamie and Michell Cornell and grandchildren Aiden, Jacob, and Sophia.

James grew up in the Bay Area, graduated from San Lorenzo High.  He started working for Western Electric/AT& T/Lucent Technologies in 1966 and transferred to Rocklin in 1990 with many colleagues and retired in 1998.

Jim started taking stain glass classes and he became so passionate about it, that after retiring, he went to work for Citrus Heights Stain Glass and then Rainbow Glass, where he continued to learn to fuse glass and make dichroic glass jewelry even trying his hand a glass blowing.  He loved creating and teaching there and at Sun City Lincoln.  He loved creating his crafts for family and friends.

He also was very passionate about volunteering for golf tournaments for 15 years, especially for the Ladies.  He started out being a Marshal, but he especially loved volunteering for the Golf channel.

He also loved spending time, golfing and vacationing with friends and family.  He especially loved family gatherings.
