Long time Sacramento resident Gloria Ann Roberson passed away in her sleep on Monday, June 1, 2020. Gloria was born June 18, 1945, in Bell, California, and grew up in La Puente with her parents, John and Rosie Angulo, and her brother John R Angulo. She loved fishing, camping, and taking trips with her family and friends. As a teenager, she and her family moved to Orangevale and she attended Bella Vista High School. She graduated with the first graduating class of this school. She then attended classes at American River College, and went on to work for the Department of Motor Vehicles. Her first trip to Hawaii was with several of her high school friends.
Gloria was introduced to Doy Roberson in 1967 and they wed on August 17, 1968. They had 3 boys together - Eric, Evan, and Cliff. She was a loving mother her whole life. In 2017, she welcomed Yuwadee (Yuyu) to the family as Cliff's wife and enjoyed many laughs and visits with her.
Gloria was always up for "adventures" big and small. She loved to travel with friends and family, but especially with her late husband, Doy, who shared her insatiable love of photography. She visited almost every state in the USS and had the photos to prove it! She would have been happy to share them all with you, too, if you had the time!
She travelled extensively throughout the United States. Road trips across the USA took her to 47 of the 50 states. She travelled internationally to Australia and Thailand. There wasn't a destination she didn't love and would often ask if you were "up for a drive" just to get out and see the world.
Her spirit, smile, and love will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial celebration of life to honor Gloria will be held at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel in Rocklin on July 7th at 11 AM. Please feel free to attend if you can. We will also be putting a video of the services up on Youtube if you aren't able to join us.
