Geraldine "Jerry" Moniz

Geraldine "Jerry" Moniz, a vibrant soul born on June 14, 1936, in the heart of San Francisco, California, left this world peacefully in her sleep on October 9, 2025, in Lincoln, California. She was enveloped by the love of her family, a testament to the warmth she radiated throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Mission High School, Geraldine forged a meaningful career dedicated to the nourishment and development of young minds. After 23 illustrious years serving as the manager of the central kitchen within the South San Francisco Unified School District, her influence reached far beyond food; she nurtured an environment where children thrived.

Geraldine's personality was as formidable as it was infectious; ever strong-willed, she possessed a contagious laugh that brought joy to all who knew her. Her heart found its home in her church, where she cherished the opportunity to volunteer and delve deeply into her Bible study, drawing inspiration from her faith. This spirit of service extended into her personal passions as well. Known for her artistic flair, she found joy in ceramics and knitting—an effort that led her to lovingly craft bonnets for premature babies at local hospitals, sharing her gentle touch with those in need.

Survived by her loving children, Steve, Darlene, Sharon, Buffy, and Artie, Geraldine cherished her family immensely, holding her role as a mother close to her heart. Geraldine, the matriarch of one of nine children, also shares her story with her surviving brother, Rick Camacho. While her life was illuminated by the presence of her loved ones, she now reunites with those who have gone before her: her son, Jeff Muniz; her parents, Joseph Alba and Lillian Figueroa; and her siblings Richard, Ron, John, Teddy, Mark, and David.

In reflecting upon Geraldine's journey, one is reminded not only of her unwavering strength but also of her boundless love which will echo through the hearts of many. As life continually unfolds, her legacy lives on, inviting us to celebrate her remarkable spirit and the indelible marks she left on those fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 28, 2025, at Grace Life Church in Lincoln, California, a fitting homage to a life lived with fervor, grace, and a steadfast commitment to uplifting others. In this time of remembrance, we will gather to honor her memory, sharing stories that encapsulate her vibrancy and compassion, ensuring her laughter and strength resonate with us forever.
