Gerald (Jerry) Irving Pettengill, 95, died on January 28th, 2019 in his home in Roseville California
The service will be held in the Dixon National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd.
Dixon, CA) on February 28th at 11:30 am.
Jerry was born on August 24, 1923, in Coquille Oregon.
He served in the United States Army/Air Corp which later became the United States Air Force. During World War II, he was in the Philippines.
After the War, he was sent on a temporary duty assignment to England where he met his wife Margaret. They were married in 1950 in Tucson Arizona.
During his 31 years in the military service, Jerry had a variety of jobs including an air refueling operator, truck driver and recreation administrator. He was proud to have the opportunity to manage the project building the first nine holes of a golf course at Beale Air Force Base. He received many awards and traveled throughout the world.
Jerry valued the preciousness of life. He found joy in people and friendships. He was an avid golfer and played his last round on his 90th birthday. He loved to travel and read, he took over 35 cruises with his wife and family.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Margaret and his three adoring children Jeri, Mark, Michael, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
