George William Plunk, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, February 6, 2014 at his home in Elk Grove, California. George's final days were spent surrounded by family and close friends who he all loved so dearly.
George graced the world on October 22, 1949, as the new edition and son to Mr. & Mrs. George William Plunk (SR.). George grew from a young boy into a dashing young man in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. After high school George voluntarily enlisted into the United States Army in 1967, where he would become a soldier serving with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. George went on to serve heroically as an Airborne Ranger during 2 overseas tours in Vietnam. George was decorated with the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Army Commendation medals for acts of valor and being wounded on the battlefield.
Despite George's recent severe ailment, he remained courageous and in a grand spirit until his final days, ensuring to do as much of what he loved most, spending time with loved ones and playing golf. This is just an example to George's true defining character in which he gave us all such courage and hope, while also reminding us of the preciousness of life.
George is survived by his loving wife Delfrida, sons Mathew, Joshua, Jason, Alex, and Jerrad, and grandsons Aiden and Channing.
