GAIL (COBB) CHEHOCK
Our precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was living in Fort Worth, Texas at the time and was 80 years old.
Gail is survived by: her sister, Lyn (Cobb) Hanush; her brother, Charles Black; her children, Cindy Alvaro, Kim (husband Sean) Lokey, and Denny Chehock; her grandchildren, Tiffany Alvaro Foster, Mitch Alvaro, Michael Lokey, Beth Lokey, Abby Lokey, and Sarah Lokey; and her great-grandchildren, Khellar Foster, Zeke Alvaro, and a baby girl expected in early September 2021.
She is now reunited in heaven with her husband, Gerald Chehock; her mother and father, Luther and Hester (Andrews) Cobb; her stepfather, Edgar Black; her brothers, Lee Cobb and Ernest Cobb; and her sister, Lois (Cobb) Salapka.
Gail grew up in Visalia, CA as Aretha Gail Cobb. She graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia in 1958 then moved to San Francisco, CA and worked for Dohrman's where she met her husband, Jerry.
She married her beloved husband, Jerry, on October 8, 1960.
Gail was an active member of Sierra Baptist Church in Newcastle, CA until her move to Texas in June of 2020. She and Jerry also attended First Baptist Community Church - Los Gatos whenever they were in the Bay Area.
She loved working with children - hers, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the neighbors, the Sunday School students, AWANA students - any and all children. Gail worked as a teacher with AWANA helping children memorize Bible verses for more than 20 years. She had the pleasure of teaching her own grandchildren and great-grandchild Bible verses at AWANA.
Finally, her gift for hospitality was well-known and remembered by all who loved her. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - at the many family gatherings she hosted.
