Enrique Martinez Navarrete was born on November 9, 1931 in Michoacan, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States at the age of nineteen where he worked for over thirty years at the Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville, California. He is survived by his eight children: Maria Sanchez, Reymunda Vences, Enrique Navarrete, Jr., Carlos Navarrete, Ramon Navarrete, Senely Navarrete, Xochil Navarrete and Andrew Navarrete. Enrique has eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who were honored to have shared his life.
Enrique will be remembered for his belly-aching laughter, determination, resourcefulness and strength. He was a skilled gardener, an excellent dancer and a devoted soccer fan. No matter the task at hand, Enrique took pride in all things he set out to accomplish. A memorial service will be held at the Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel on May 4, 2015. Visitation begins at 10:00 am with a memorial service following at 11:00 am. Enrique will be laid to rest at the Roseville District Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
