Edith Elizabeth Watson

February 6, 1922 — August 28, 2014

Edith passed at home quietly in her sleep on August 28, 2014. She was 92.

Edith was born in Rhode Island in 1922. Her family moved to California when she was two. She grew up in Altadena and graduated from Pasadena City College. She married Walter (Bob) Watson in 1942. Her father was born in Scotland and passed early on. Edith worked for her step-dad, Ben at his service station on Lake Ave growing up. She raised her family, Sandra, Gregory, Dawn and Walt in Duarte and Monrovia. The folks retired to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1984. Edith relocated to Roseville, CA after the death of Bob in 2009.

For the last two years she had been living at the Terraces of Roseville in her own apartment with a caring staff that truly loved her. She was well known for her quick wit and wicked sense of humor. For those who knew mom's love affair with chocolate, you will enjoy knowing her last meal was a bowl of chocolate ice cream.

She is survived by her kids: Sandi Dorsey, Greg
Watson, Dawn Jennings, and Walter Watson; and
her brother, Irving McCallum; as well as five
grandkids, eleven great grandchildren, and one
great-great grandchild; nephews and nieces.

A "Reminisce Party" will take place in the
spring when family members are able to travel.
If you are interested in attending please send an
email Dawn at dawnj500@hotmail.com.
She will send you the information when a date is determined.

To Our Family and Friends…

We want to thank you all. As the kids of Edith and Bob, we grew to love hearing your names throughout the years. You were not just the family and friends of our parents, but you were the warm, loving memories of our childhood & lives.

Each time your names were mentioned it was a comfort for us, because we knew our folks were loved and had a good life. There are a few of you we never actually meant, but we feel we know you through the stories that brought our folks so much joy.

So we say "THANK YOU" for being there for our folks… and thank you for being part of our lives. Through you we learned to be people who care about others and the world. That may sound a bit lofty, but you impacted our folks and in turn shaped our lives. We appreciate you all!
Thank you for loving our folks!!!
Sandi, Greg, Dawn & Walt
