D. Sean Thomason, 87, passed away peacefully to the " Happy Hunting Grounds " on August 1, 2024.

 Sean enjoyed life to the fullest! After serving in the United States Navy, he began his 27 year career. as a Peace Officer with the State of California. He was a member of the California Peace Officer's Association.

After retirement in 1991, he and JoAnn left Elk Grove to travel throughout the USA in their motorhome for 12 years.   In 2003 Sean & JoAnn returned to Sacramento to be closer to family. They bought their new home in Rosemont to continue their retirement life. 

Sean was preceded in death by his parents, Graham & Velma Thomason, sister Dorthea and brother James Thomason.

 Sean is survived by his loving wife and soul mate JoAnn Thomason, sister Emy Moore, brother Dwight (Rayola) Thomason. Children DeeDee (Tom) Debord of Sutter Creek, Seana (Trevor) Hesse of Incline Village, D. Sean (Amelia) Thomason II of Reno; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends.

 Services are scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, 2024. Final committal and military honors will take place at 1:30 pm, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5801 Midway Rd. Dixon, California 95620.

Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at a private residence in Sacramento. Please RSVP to kellysimpson068@gmail.com for location.
