David Lester Willard (1946-2016)
David passed away peacefully on January 11, 2016 in his home with his family by his side.
David was born on April 19,1946 in Sacramento Ca, to Ernest Lester Willard Jr., and Mildred Mary (Wise) Willard. David is survived by his Sister Marcia Willard, her children and grand children, his Daughter Jolene Willard, and her two children, Son John Willard, his wife and two children. Former Wife Linda (Flint) Willard, and cousins Bobby and Ray Aitken, their Uncle John Aitken, and his three sons Jack, Bill and Tom Aitken. David was preceded in death by his Great-Grandfather George Willard, Grandfather Ernest L. Willard, Grandmother Mayme N. (Cohoe) Willard, Father Ernest L. Willard Jr., Mother Mildred (Wise) Willard, Aunt Barbara (Willard) Aitken, Uncle Ralph Aitken and Cousin Judith (Aitken) McCartney.
David lived the majority of his 69 years in Placer County, residing in Roseville. He attended Vernon Street School until 1953, sometime in that year the family moved to the Arden area of Sacramento where he attended D.W Babcock Elementary School, Valle Vista and Las Palmas Junior High Schools and graduated from Norte Del Rio High School Class of 65'. David worked as a flight-line mechanic at McClellan Air Force Base during the Vietnam War until 1972. He worked at the Roseville Telephone Company, as a lineman until 1975. He then, on the advice of a friend, joined the Local 185 Laborers Union and went to work for Charles Harris Construction until 1978; at which time he acquired his C-8 State Contractors License and started his own business, David Willard Concrete. In 1994, he joined the Teamsters Local 150 and began driving for Teichert Ready Mix, where he worked until present day. David will be greatly missed by all.
David's memorial service will be held Saturday, February 20th at St Mary's Chapel 5251 Front Street, in Rocklin, California at 9:30 am, immediately following there will be a Celebration of David's Life held at Rocklin Community Center, Johnson Springview Hall 5480 5th Street, Rocklin California 95677 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
