Darrell was born Darrell Lee Enge on February 18, 1932, in Fort Worth Texas to his proud parents, Robert and Ethel Enge. Darrell was the second of four children. He is preceded in death by his wife Monique, both brothers, Robert and Stine, and his sister Dorothy. Darrell is survived by his two daughters, Linda and Nancy, grandchildren Chantal, Tatiana and Miguel, his great grandchildren Christian, Zion, Isiah, Johnny and Anton II (Papi), and an abundance of Nephews, Nieces and very dear friends.
Darrell was very loving, generous and kind and was loved by all who met him. He was a great husband, hard worker, great provider, father and grandfather. He jumped at every opportunity to repair things around the house and would always offer a bottle of rubbing alcohol as a cure all whenever someone had an ailment. He had a wonderful and funny personality and was best known for his famous barbecue ribs as well as his loving hospitality. “Make yourself at home” was a common heartfelt greeting received by all that entered their home.
He met the love of his life, Monique in 1959 and they shared a special bond of love, trust and loyalty for nearly 60 years. He often reminisced when they first met about how she caught his attention while wearing her infamous “green coat”. Many admired the love they had and commended them for setting the pattern of what “true love” should look like.
A Celebration of Life for Darrell is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25th, 2022, at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel, 6920 Destiny Drive, Rocklin, California.
