Daniel Robert Young

Daniel Robert Young, affectionately known as "Fadre," was born on February 13, 1957, in Zambia and departed this world on November 9, 2025, in Roseville. His life was woven with threads of love, faith, and deep relationships, marking every interaction with purpose and warmth.

Dan’s career was not defined by titles or accolades; instead, he dedicated himself to fostering bonds with those around him, always seeking opportunities to uplift people in their times of need. He embodied a spirit of service, believing that work was merely a conduit for relationship-building. Every interaction, every moment spent with others, reflected his unwavering commitment to put people first.

Among his most cherished memories are those of joyful, laughter-filled moments with his children. Kara, Jason, Casey, Kendra, Jessie, and Caleb will forever hold close the whimsical adventures of their childhood. They recall waking up at the crack of dawn to help with the family paper route,  where all six kids would roller blade alongside Dan's slow-moving van, clinging to the door handles and mirrors, and racing from car to house to deliver newspapers. The nostalgic trips to the snow on Christmas Day, the camping adventures filled with lengthy card games, and the cherished dinners crammed around the dining room table, sharing stories and laughter — all define a father whose greatest pride was in the love they shared as a family. The delightful memory of Dan peacefully sleeping on a trampoline under the stars with his children is a testament to the bond they all cherished.

Dan's influence transcended the walls of his home; he was a mentor and father figure to many, embodying empathy and listening deeply to those around him. A man of profound faith, he pursued knowledge and understanding relentlessly, often engaging in passionate discussions about theology over coffee, preferring meaningful conversation over idle chit-chat. His kindness wasn’t just spoken; it was evident in his actions, whether fixing a car, lending a helping hand, or simply providing a ride to the airport, all while expressing gratitude for the shared moments.

Kelly, his beloved wife, fondly remembers how their relationship blossomed under an unexpected water fight at a youth group gathering. This spontaneous event became a cherished story of how love can flourish in the most unexpected circumstances. Her heart echoes with the fondness of memories made, celebrating a partnership built on laughter, faith, and shared adventures.

In his final days, Dan's fighting spirit shone brightly, as medical staff marveled at his resilience, calling him a fighter. Resuscitated seven times in the hospital, he held on long enough for his six children to gather and bid farewell—an act of love that exemplified his enduring connection to family.
