Cortnie Sechrist Roseberry, beloved mother, daughter and sister, died on October 7, 2016, at her home in Cool, CA.
Cortnie was born in Concord, CA, to Larre T. and Vicki R. Roseberry on November 23, 1984. Growing up, Cortnie participated in horse shows and was a cheerleader in highschool. Cortnie graduated from Golden Sierra High School in 2002. On May 10, 2003, Cortnie married David Sechrist. On September 4, 2003, Cortnie gave birth to her first son, Gabriel Thomas. On December 20, 2006, Cortnie gave birth to her second son, Jaiden Mathew. Cortnie focused all of her energy on raising two wonderful boys. Whether watching Gabriel's soccer games or playing with Jaiden, Cortnie was happiest when her sons were having fun. In early 2015, Cortnie was diagnosed with oral cancer. Cortnie approached this challenge like every other aspect of her life - with a smile and positive outlook. Prior to being diagnosed, she planned to return to school to be a youth addiction counselor. Throughout her life, Cortnie lived in the Sacramento, CA area, Plano, TX, and the Denver, CO area. Cortnie loved drawing, dancing, movies, card games, writing and spending time with her family. She was incredibly creative. She was known for drawing fun pictures of her family and friends. She was kind and welcoming to everyone she met.
Cortnie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Duryne Engelbrektson.
Cortnie is survived by her sons, Gabriel Sechrist and Jaiden Sechrist; parents, Larre and Vicki Roseberry of Cool, CA; sister, Natasha (Andrew) Meredith of Olathe, KS; brothers, Jeff (Laryssa) Freeman of Carlsbad, CA; Jimmy (Alice) Freeman, of Walnut Creek, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
