Conrad Hilmer Carlson, Jr. passed away on December 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and love. Born on March 6, 1943, in San Francisco, California to Conrad and Blanche (Schott) Carlson, Conrad was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many through his meaningful career, volunteer work, and cherished hobbies.
Conrad's journey began with his military service in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965. His commitment to his country during this time was just a glimpse of the unwavering dedication he would bring to every aspect of his life.
After completing his service in the Marines, Conrad embarked on a distinguished career at Valero Energy Corporation. For an impressive 40 years, he faithfully worked for the company. His contributions and expertise were highly valued by colleagues and made a lasting impact on the organization.
Despite dedicating so many years to his career, Conrad always found time to make a difference in his community. He selflessly volunteered at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Jose, California. His caring nature and compassion brought comfort to countless patients during their moments of need.
Beyond his professional achievements and volunteer work, Conrad reveled in various hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. Photography allowed him to capture beautiful memories for himself and loved ones. He had an intricate understanding of computers and was always eager to learn new technologies. One of Conrad's favorite activities was playing cards with family members – it provided not only entertainment but also treasured moments spent together.
Conrad's wanderlust led him on breathtaking journeys across California with his beloved family. Exploring the diverse landscapes and vibrant culture of his home state brought him immeasurable happiness. Additionally, he embarked on unforgettable cruises to Alaska and through the Panama Canal. These trips created lasting memories that will be cherished by those who shared these adventures with him.
In Conrad's passing, he is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy Carlson. Their enduring commitment to each other was a testament to the strength of their bond. Conrad will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his son, Erik (Lynette), and daughter, Kristina (Craig). His wisdom and guidance will continue to inspire them as they navigate life's journey.
Conrad was also a cherished twin brother to Babe and a beloved brother to Bill (Julie), Marian, and Shirley. He also leaves behind several other family members — Steve and Mary Ellen, Jayne, Rick and Jackie, David and Susan and many cousins. He was an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews who adored him greatly. Conrad's kindhearted nature endeared him to many friends who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Conrad is predeceased by his parents, and two of his sisters, Marie and Florence.
We bid farewell to Conrad Hilmer Carlson, Jr., grateful for the memories he created during his time with us. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he made an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

A Celebration of Life for Conrad is planned for 11:00 am on January 20, 2024, at Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel, 6920 Destiny Drive, Rocklin, California 95678.
