In loving memory of Christopher "Chris" Hanson, a dedicated individual whose impact on the music industry and the State of California will long be remembered. Chris was born on March 19, 1972, in Santa Clara, CA, and his journey came to a peaceful close on July 8, 2024, in Rocklin, CA. He was a beloved son of Jean Hanson and John Hanson.
Chris's professional path was marked by his passion for music and dedication to public service. Over the course of 14 years, he flourished in the music industry recording musicians and contributing his talents at Digidesign. Later, he transitioned to serve at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as well as the Department of Justice. It was here that he received two prestigious Attorney General Awards for Excellence, showcasing his commitment to excellence.
Education played a significant role in Chris's life. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music-Recording Arts from California State University Chico and further pursued his academic endeavors by obtaining a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chris will be fondly remembered for his vibrant personality and the love he had for his family. Known for going above and beyond for his family and friends, he touched countless lives with his caring nature. Chris was always the first to support his family and friends whether it be in his daughters' sports or academic activities, or going on memory making vacations. Always adorned with a warm smile and arms open for heartfelt embraces, Chris created a welcoming presence wherever he went.
In his leisure time, Chris found joy in various hobbies. From working with musicians to strumming melodies on his guitars, he immersed himself in the world of creativity. An early riser, he often embraced the tranquility of golf courses during morning tee-offs or embarked on exhilarating motorcycle rides when the weather permitted. However, his greatest happiness stemmed from making cherished memories with loved ones.
Chris is survived by his loving wife Dawn Hanson, devoted daughters Mercedes and Brooklyn Hanson; John Hanson (father); Wendy Taylor (sister); Mike Taylor (brother-in-law); Calvin and Jack Taylor (nephews); Marlin Sapp (father-in-law); Carol Sapp (mother-in-law); Chad Oberlander (brother-in-law); Kayla Oberlander (sister-in-law); Jacob and Hunter Oberlander (nephews).
Chris left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those around him. While we mourn his loss deeply, we find solace in knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire us all. May his memory be a source of comfort during this difficult time.
