Carolyn Arnett Broeren, born March 1st, 1936, in Citrus Heights, California, passed away on April 5th, 2015, at home, under hospice care, in her home town of Roseville, California. Carolyn was born to Carol and Duane Arnett. She is survived by two brothers, Larry Arnett of Folsom, California, and Dale Arnett of Sierra City, California. She grew up in Roseville, living most of that time on Cortez Avenue, and attended grade, middle, and high school in Roseville. Carol graduated from Samuel Merrit University in Oakland, California as a registered nurse and worked in that profession. She also worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines.
Carolyn married Lawrence Broeren in 1961 and they recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They have two children: Sandra, who lives in Vancouver, Washington, and Robert, who lives near Huntsville, Alabama. They also have two grandsons, William and Rigel.
Carolyn, after growing up, working, and returning to Roseville, moved with her husband and family eleven times, including residences in Sacramento, and the states of Oregon, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and up-state New York (twice); finally returning to Roseville.
Carolyn was active in her churches, currently Pleasant Grove Community Church, and other community activities, such as Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and local blood banks.
She was also active in PEO, an organization supporting women's education. She held many local and state PEO offices.
Her prime hobby was birding and she has seen about 4000 species of birds in North, Central, and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
