REMEMBERING CAROLYN

Carolyn was born October 2nd, 1939, in Chattanooga, TN, to Arnold and Violet Goins. She was the fifth of their twelve children and kept a very watchful eye over her younger siblings. Her family relocated to San Diego when she was just a year old, and she grew up there loving the beach and the California sunshine.

She married in 1955 and re-located to the bay area where she lived for many years. In 1961, she gave birth to her first child, Daryl Williams followed by her daughter, Dondra, in 1967. She was a loving and wonderful mother who will be forever missed.

Carolyn owned many successful businesses over the years and went back to college in her thirties, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Her determination was unmatched, and she could accomplish anything she set her mind to.

She was very rooted in her Christian faith and cherished her many church friends that became like family over the years. She loved gospel music all her life and filled her home with music.

In 1999, she married her beloved husband, Thomas Bogenholm. They spent many years in Yuba City, CA, surrounded by family and dear friends. After Tom’s passing, she relocated to Lincoln, CA, to live closer to family.

Her sense of humor and her storytelling were the highlights of spending time with her. She kept those around her laughing and always feeling welcomed into her home.

Carolyn’s grandchildren were her greatest joy and she spent many hours playing with them, praying for them and pouring into their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents and ten of her brothers and sisters as well as her beloved husband, Tom Bogenholm.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Williams (Nelda), her daughter Dondra (Eric), her beloved grandchildren Christopher(Lucero), Kara, Amanda, Lyndsey & Cason.

She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Scroggins, many nieces and nephews and her cherished cousins.

While her loss is so deeply felt it gives us great comfort to know that we will one day be re-united with her in Heaven.
