BETTY'S LEGACY

Betty Chapman of Roseville, California went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, with her children by her side.

The youngest of 3 children, Betty was born on July 2, 1931 in Benton County Arkansas to Carl and Mable Houck. She was raised in Watsonville, California on the family ranch. Betty graduated from Watsonville High School in 1949. Betty was very proud that she became a Christian in her sophomore year, while attending Bethel Tabernacle in Watsonville, California. While living in Morgan Hill, she along with her family attended First Assembly of God. She actively attended church everywhere she went. 

On August 4,1950 Betty married Paul Chapman, together they celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to Paul’s passing.  They had 3 children, Rick, Jim and Tandra who they raised in Morgan Hill, California. 

Betty was employed by the Core of Engineers in the payroll department, then as a secretary prior to working alongside Paul as they started the family business, Quality Acoustics in 1964. She was the office manager there for 21 years, until their retirement on July 1, 1985. Once retired, they began traveling covering every corner of the United States including Alaska and Canada in their RV. They also enjoyed going on many cruises, both together and with friends.

Betty had many interests. She was an amazing baker and cake decorator, she crocheted baby blankets for her Grand Children and Great Grandchildren, as well as many other loved ones. She cherished the time spent with her Grandchildren, family and her many friends. In her later years she spent a lot of time reading.

Betty is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Rick and Janette Chapman of Salinas, California and her daughter and son in-law, Tandra and Frank Schulze of Morgan Hill, California. 8 Grandchildren, Betsy Dirks, Ben Chapman, Jimmy Chapman, Danny Chapman, Misty Smith, Mandy Ryan, Michelle Decker, and Nicole Forrest, 22 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Chapman, son James Chapman, parents, Carl and Mable Houck, brother Eugene Houck and sister Mildred George.
