BARBARA'S STORY
At the age of 86, Barbara Ann Gibbs passed into the hands of Jesus on December 5th, 2021. She was born to Jesse and Laudie McWilliams in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 1, 1935.
Barbara Ann walked in the graceful dignity of a southern belle. She was an excellent cook, outgoing, bubbly, and she never knew a stranger. Barbara never pulled any punches and was known to speak the truth. She was gracious and strong, warm, and delightful.
Barbara was passionate about history and genealogy. She loved to visit old cemeteries and learn of family histories. She especially enjoyed arrowhead hunting, painting (especially portraits), and traveled with Jim to 35 of the 50 states.
Her family spent countless memorable days together at the cabin she and her first husband, Jack, built at Eagle Lake. It is now her legacy to her grandchildren to enjoy for many years to come.
Barbara embraced a faith in Christ early in her life, discovering for herself the irresistible love and grace of Jesus.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents Jessie and Laudie McWilliams and her daughter, Sandy. She is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughter Michelle (Stuart), and her stepson Keith, as well as her 8 brothers and sisters, and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Barbara will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know her.
