Audrey Marie Tomei, 97, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Monday February 23rd, 2026, at the Queen Of The Valley Hospital in Napa, California, with her daughter, son in law and brother by her side. She was born to Jennie and Walter Paladini in San Francisco on June 30th, 1927, the second youngest of seven children.

Audrey graduated from St. Brigid's High School in San Francisco and eventually met her future husband, Donald Arthur Tomei, who graduated from Galileo High school, in San Francisco.

After Don had served in the military as a paratrooper, they married on October 10th,1950. Don eventually opened Precision Wood Products, a successful stair building business in the Mission District of San Francisco. They lived in San Francisco for several years before relocating to the Terra Linda area of San Rafael. Audrey initially had worked for the government involving the formation of the United Nations before joining her husband’s business doing secretarial work.

Audrey gave birth to her daughter Debra Marie, when she was 28. She enjoyed playing classical piano at a very high level and was an excellent cook, enjoying entertaining friends and family with exquisite authentic Italian dishes.

Audrey and Don were both avid skiers, and enjoyed many vacations at their cabin in Homewood, and later at their condominium at Incline. They especially enjoyed skiing at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and had multiple European vacations before retiring to Lincoln, California. After 64 years of marriage, Don passed away and Audrey soon after moved to The Meadows of Napa Valley where she thrived while making new friends and connections as she had such an outgoing personality (a social butterfly!).

She is survived by her Daughter Debra Eves, (husband Mark Eves), Grandson Garrett Eves, (wife Ramya Chidanand), and brother Achille Paladini, (wife Joan Paladini).
