Arthur Jerald Green Jr. was born on September 16, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Wilhelmina & Arthur Green. He was their only (and favorite!) child.
Art enlisted in the United States Army after some years in college.
Goodrich Tire Company offered Art a job that would move him to San Francisco. Friends there set him up for a blind date with a native San Franciscan named Nancy Maggio. Nancy and Art married in 1967 and later added Kathy, Edward & Kerry to their family. Their family has since grown to include sons-in-law John & Keith and eight grandchildren: Jack, Brian, Erin, Emily, Madison, Kyle, Milana and Harlow. Many years were spent attending Art & Nancy's kids' athletic games and activities, and eventually their grandchildren's activities.
Art and Nancy were married for 53 years and lived in San Mateo for 39 of those years. They and moved to Roseville's Sun City in 2012.
Art pursued a long career in banking and later in real estate.
He was involved in many organizations including the Knights of Holy Sepulcher, Serra International as the San Francisco area President, St. Gregory's Church Men's Club and Finance Board.
Art enjoyed many hobbies including golf, collecting stamps and coins, bowling and bocce ball. He was a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, Notre Dame football and St. Mary's College men's basketball!
Art and Nancy traveled extensively to favorite locations such as Capitola, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii and Europe, even reaching the North Cape of the Artic Circle via a cruise through Norway.
Although Art struggled through some health issues during his last few years, he was determined to stay busy with traveling, activities with family & friends, and enjoying their home in Roseville.
Art passed away peacefully on October 2, 2020, surrounded by his family after suffering a sudden heart attack. He was administered his last rights at Kaiser Hospital.
