Our beloved mother, Anita Rose Mahon, aged 80, died peacefully on the morning of Thursday July 16th, 2015 at her daughter's home in Rocklin, CA after a brief struggle with an auto-immune disease.
At the time of her passing, Anita was employed full time at Hyatt Regency, Sacramento and had worked there almost 20 years. Prior to working for the Hyatt, Anita spent several years in the Title industry. She taught ballroom dancing in the 1950's and traveled to Cuba many times both for entertainment and for dance competitions.
Anita graduated Lincoln High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She was captain of her basketball team, participated on the Social Committee, achieved recognition in the National Honor Society, was a log editor, and sang in the A Cappella Choir.
Anita was a dedicated mother who spent her adult life working and caring for her family. She was extremely selfless and often extended her home to young friends that needed emotional support or maybe just a temporary place to live. Anita was a vibrant, classy lady who lit up a room when she would enter. Her laughter was contagious and she made everyone around her feel comfortable.
Anita is survived by her two daughters, Rita Haughin and Erin Chimarusti, their husbands, Greg Haughin and Ken Chimarusti, four grand children, David Haughin, Amber Haughin, Todd Haughin, and Tyler Chimarusti and two surviving stepchildren Richard Mahon and Sharon Fiscus.
